The student types listed on this page are eligible to receive need-based and/or merit-based student funding through Banner Student Aid (BSA)
At a high level, students registered in an undergraduate or graduate program receiving need-based or merit-based student funding should receive payment through BSA.
Important: Postdoctoral Scholars and Postdoctoral Research Trainees receiving funding, regardless of whether or not it is deemed an award, should receive their payment through the HR Payroll system.
There are, however, a series of other types of students that require clarification as to whether or not their award payments should be made through BSA.
Essentially, the deciding factor as to whether or not the student should receive an award or student stipend payment through BSA was whether or not a student classified as that type would be eligible to receive a T2202 either from McGill or from another Canadian institution.
