Linking Action and Research on Sustainability (LARS) brown bag lunch series presents: "Creating your academic personal website"!

Tuesday, November 25, 2014 12:00to13:00
Thomson House Room 404, 3650 rue McTavish, Montreal, QC, H3A 1Y2, CA

Linking Action and Research on Sustainability (LARS) is a joint initiative of McGill professors Elena Bennett and Catherine Potvin and funded by the McGill Sustainability Projects Fund. Our main goal is to give visibility to McGill researchers (profs, graduate students, postdocs) working on positive contributions to sustainability. To do that, we help researchers create videos and we offer a series of brown bag lunches in science communication and outreach.

"Creating your personal academic website" is a one-hour hands-on workshop for grad students and postdocs. Researchers who have created their own website highly recommend it as a way of advertising themselves, increasing their online visibility, engaging with people of the general public and framing their research in a tangible way. If you lack the time to get started or want to avoid learning the nuts and bolts of web design on your own, this hands-on training is for you!
