Neutrophil Dynamics in Gastroesophageal Adenocarcinoma

Welcome to our Lab

Our research program is focused on understanding how neutrophils contribute to systemic inflammation and tumour progression in GEA. To this end, we have established a successful, internationally recognized research program. This includes both clinical and basic scientific arms.

The Visionary Behind Our Project

Dr. Cool's Headshot

Research Interests

My focus in research resolves around the role of systemic inflammation in cancer development and tumor progression.

Research Expertise

Cell Signaling, Host-Tumour Interaction and Lung Cancer

Signature Achievements

I have developed a clinic for GEA patients where neutrophils and their products are measured. This feeds a basic arm in which these phenotypes are explored using novel in vitro and in vivo models of GEA, high resolution in vivo microscopy, the generation of patient derived organoids and single cell RNA sequencing.
