Local Wellness Advisor: Science

Local Wellness Advisor supporting students in the Faculty of Science (name unavailable)

Meet Fanny Gutierrez-Meyers (she/her), Local Wellness Advisor for the Faculty of Science

A highlight of working at the Hub for Fanny is, "being part of an incredible interdisciplinary team that recognizes that mental health is health.”

Fanny is a licensed clinical social worker with over 20 years of experience providing mental health services for individuals, groups, and families.  Before arriving at McGill, Fanny spent a decade working in higher education, both as a teacher of clinical practice and a provider of mental health services to students.

Fanny's role as a Local Wellness Advisor involves providing psychoeducational and skills-based workshops, doing outreach and wellness promotion, and holding one-on-one sessions with students to connect them to resources on and off campus.

In addition to Building A Healthier McGill, Fanny is busy practicing her French, reading mystery novels, going for long walks, and reliving her five years in Shanghai by seeking out the best xiaolongbao in Montreal.

You can find Fanny's office in McGill 2001, Room 774.
