Prospective careers & internships

McGill students can get relevant work experience during the course of their studies by participating in the (optional) Engineering Internship Program.

Internships / industrial practicums are paid, full-time work terms conducted in a field related to your engineering studies (Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Software Engineering). Full time engineering undergraduate students may participate in the Engineering Internship program by completing 4, 8, 12 or 16 month internships.

Students studying Materials or Mining Engineering participate in their department’s mandatory co-op program.

In their education, North American women are still told too often that they are not good at math and science.  By the time they get to high school too few consider a career in engineering. Meet Mary-Jean
