I am a Professor in the Faculty of Education at Simon Fraser University and Director of the Institute for the Study of Teaching and Learning in the Disciplines. My long-standing research interest concerns how to support academics to develop a deeper understanding of student learning in their discipline and to link that to teaching decisions and practice. I am also interested in the pedagogy of doctoral education and especially the role of doctoral supervisor with its fascinating interplay of pedagogy and identity construction for both student and supervisor.
