  • Create project framework; consult with deans; establish project team

May to August 2008

  • Begin discussions with partners to determine which services will be integrated; collect space requirements from all participating units; create space requirements document

July 2008

  • Architects assigned; Project Manager assigned

August 7, 2008

  • Submit space requirements document to project architects

August – September 2008

  • Fine-tune space requirements; Graduate & Postdoctoral Studies Office (GPSO) retreat

September 17, 2008

  • Initial space requirements document submitted to architects

September – October 2008

  • High level decisions finalized with respect to overall points of integration amongst partner units

January - February 2009

  • Final list of integrating services published

    Launch and announcement of "Name that service" winner (staff contest)

    Ongoing Business Process Mapping and re-thinking of current business practices

    Student focus groups held regarding name contest and Welcome Centre features

February 2009

  • Space design ratified

March - April 2009

  • Announcement of new Service Point organizational structure, including position descriptions and staffing plan

    Launch and announcement of Service Point "Logo contest" winner

    Creation and launch of Professional Development plan for staff in partner units

April 2009

  • Service Point managerial positions posted

May 2009

  • Service Point hiring process underway for managerial positions

June 2009

  • Service Point senior managerial staff selected

August 2009

  • Service Point managerial positions filled; training commences

September to December 2009

  • Service Point construction process underway

    Training underway for Service Point staff

January 2010

  • Commencement of integrated services delivery (soft launch) in James Administration building (front counters: room #205 and room #301).

    Demolition phase at construction site completed by January 15th.

    Construction launch of new Service Point mid-January.

June 2010

  • Official launch of new Service Point Office (located on McTavish street) - grouping together services currently offered in 6 different locations

Summer 2010

  • Launch of Arts & Science Student Affairs functions within Service Point
