Biography:

Geneviève Morasse shines on the Quebec music scene as a versatile violinist, composer, and arranger. Beginning her training in classical violin at the age of 3, she grew up exploring a variety of musical styles that enriched her practice, ranging from pop to jazz, rock, country, and traditional Quebec music. In her teenage years, she started performing on the pop-jazz scene as a freelance accompanist and as a founding member of a pop-folk band. She then pursued studies in jazz at the University of Montreal, where she graduated with a degree in Jazz Performance in 2017, along with an excellence scholarship.

Her versatility and talent have led her to perform with a multitude of artists from very diverse musical genres, both in studio and on tour across North America and Europe. She can be seen performing alongside Huu Bac Quintet, Lilas l’bon temps, Marc Maziade (MAZ), Gen & Marcus, and several others.

Geneviève's talents extend to composition and arranging. In recent years, in addition to releasing the album "Warden" with guitarist Marcus Lowry as Gen & Marcus, she has regularly collaborated on writing and arranging projects with diverse artists including composer Jean-Nicolas Trottier, the a cappella group QW4RTZ, Lilas l’bon temps, Claude Hurtubise, and contributes to Quebec film and podcast projects.
