Placement Exams
All students beginning graduate studies in music technology are required to submit a detailed description of their backgrounds in audio signal processing, music and sound perception, acoustics, computer programming, and other computer music topics (courses taken and experience). This information should be submitted to the graduatestudies.music [at] mcgill.ca (Music Graduate Office) no later than August 1st. The Area will evaluate this information, and a recommendation will be made for remedial courses (if required). Students can discuss any remedial requirements when they arrive at McGill with the corresponding course instructor(s) in the first week of classes.
