Brain surgery: Montreal at forefront of simulation tech

The Montreal Gazette: Mourot looked stressed, with cause. Her next challenge was brain surgery, and a slip-up amid the folds of meaty tissue and coursing veins could lead to paralysis, speech loss or death. Fortunately for the patient, Mourot was among 20 CEGEP and high-school students who won a chance to experience what it’s like to operate on the NeuroTouch, rated the most advanced virtual reality surgical simulator in the world. It was developed in Montreal and resides at the Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital of McGill University. Read more
