The SSoM department has a long tradition of hosting book launches for scholars not only from its own faculty but also across McGill University and other institutions. Our book launch format involves a conversation between the author and one or two interlocutors, followed by questions from the audience and a reception.
Recent book launches include Pierre Minn, Where They Need Me: Local Clinicians and the Workings of Global Health in Haiti (Cornell University Press, 2022); Martin Robert, Cette science necessaire: Dissections humaines et formation médicale au Québec (McGill Queen’s University Press, 2023); and Janina Wellman, Biological Motion: A History of Life (Zone Books, 2024).
