The Mon Français Program

The Mon Français Program provides French language courses through McGill University's School of Continuing Studies for international tenure-stream and ranked CAS colleagues who are pursuing permanent residency in Canada. Spouses of eligible faculty members are also welcome and encouraged to participate. The goal of the program is to help new faculty become conversant in French in order to facilitate engagement with the broader community in Montréal and in Québec, and to prepare them for the Test d'évaluation du français adapté pour le Québec (TEFAQ).  McGill will reimburse the TEFAQ fees for eligible faculty members and their spouses.

At this time, the program accepts the following staff members and their spouses:

  • Tenure-track or tenured staff on a temporary work permit;
  • Assistant professors (Special Category) on a temporary work permit;
  • Ranked Contract Academic Staff (CAS) on a temporary work permit.

For more information, please visit the Mon Français site.

For questions regarding eligibility, please contact Michelle Cubano-Guzmán, Faculty Relocation Advisor at michelle.cubano [at] mcgill.ca (subject: Mon%20Francais%20Inquiry)
