Creating Effective Poster Presentations, May 15, 2024, 12-2pm (On Campus)

Date/Time/Location

Wednesday, May 15, 2024
12:00 pm to 2:00 pm
On Campus

In many fields, the poster presentation is a key form of scholarly communication.  Well-conceived posters present research findings effectively and launch conversations with fellow scholars and future collaborators.

Participate in this workshop and you will learn strategies for:

·         Creating a poster presentation for a scholarly conference or meeting
·         Preparing for the conversations that your poster will provoke

This workshop is intended for anyone who is in the process of creating a new poster.

You should come to the workshop with:

·         A laptop computer that has poster-making software installed (e.g. PowerPoint, Illustrator, LaTeX)
·         A degree of comfort using that software ... or a degree of comfort asking the person next to you for help
·         Ideas for research that you plan to present in a poster (and, ideally, preliminary or final images from that research)

The workshop will be held in McIntyre Medical, 2nd floor, room 208/209.

The workshop will be led by Dr. Chris Corkery, who has worked in science and research communication for fifteen years. He is currently a Technology Transfer Manager at McGill University.
