Claudia is an MA2 student in the Counselling Psychology program (project stream), and she holds a Specialized Honours BA in Psychology from York University. She is passionate about various mindfulness research endeavours, including: mindfulness- and compassion-based interventions; interpersonal mindfulness in the context of romantic relationships; and therapeutic presence for the promotion of safe therapeutic environments and effective therapeutic relationships. She has volunteered as a crisis text line responder with Kids Help Phone and a youth mental health advocate with Jack.org. Claudia also worked closely with the co-directors of the Centre for MindBody Health in Toronto, where she supported clinical operations, as well as research and training initiatives in the fields of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Mindfulness and Self-Compassion. She will be conducting her first practicum at the McGill Psychoeducational and Counselling Clinic this year, and she looks forward to practicing as a clinician upon completing a PhD.
