Research Interests

My primary research interests are three-fold: (1) the efficacy of mindfulness- and self-compassion -based techniques in trauma-affected populations (e.g., forensic, first responder, and veteran populations), (2) first responder mental health, resilience, post-traumatic growth, and training, and (3) police interactions with those with mental illness.

Clinical Interests

I believe that my research and clinical interests inform each other. As such, my clinical interests rest in working with first responders/public safety personnel, military veterans, forensic populations, and trauma-affected individuals more broadly. In connection to my research interests, I am fascinated by the clinical benefits of mindfulness-based interventions/therapies in ameliorating symptoms of mental illness, bolstering psychological resilience, and improving post-traumatic growth.
