Biography:

Lana Zeaiter was born and raised in Lebanon, a coastal gem steeped in history and rich cultures in the Middle East. She is currently a PhD Candidate in Educational Studies in the Department of Integrated Studies in Education (DISE) at McGill University.

Growing up as a plurilingual speaker, Lana has embraced multiple languages. She is fluent in Arabic, English, and French. She received her primary education mainly in French and her undergraduate and graduate studies in English. Since many subjects in Lebanese schools are primarily taught in a second language, and Arabic is primarily used for teaching the Arabic language and social studies, Lana's research interests are centered around second and additional language teaching pedagogies. Specifically, her research interests revolve around plurilingualism, language pedagogy, teacher education, and technology.

Lana has extensive experience as a language teacher and teacher educator: she has been an English instructor in various schools in Lebanon and an English and Communication instructor and course developer at the university level. Currently, she works as a lecturer in the B.Ed. TESL and Pédagogie de l'Immersion Française programs at McGill University and the TESL and TFSL programs at the Département de didactique des langues at Université du Québec à Montréal (UQÀM).
