Visitor/public parking areas located on the downtown campus of McGill University

Capacity may vary during winter months due to snow, during periods of heavy construction and during special events. Please visit the visitor parking page for rates and methods of payment. The garage and lot hours of operation and height restrictions are available on the following webpage. For the Main Campus parking lot restrictions, please visit the Main Campus page.

  • 680 Sherbrooke garage. The garage is accessed from President-Kennedy Avenue, just west of Robert-Bourassa Boulevard. It has a capacity of 90 spaces. There is stair and elevator access to the building.
  • Frank Dawson Adams (FDA) Courtyard lot. The exterior lot is accessed via the lane between the Adams Building (3420 University Street) and the Pulp and Paper Research Centre (3450 University Street). It has a capacity of 24 spaces.
  • Milton gate parking booth. The booth is located at the intersection of Milton Street and University Street. The Milton gate is the entrance and exit for the Main Campus parking lot.
  • Main Campus lot. This exterior lot is accessed by the Milton gate. It has a capacity of 49 spaces.
  • Sports Complex/Molson Stadium parking booth. The booth is located at the entrance to the Sports Complex/Molson Stadium lot.
  • Sports Complex/Molson Stadium lot. This exterior lot is accessed via the lane between The Neuro (3801 University) and Douglas Hall (3851 University). The parking spaces are located under the north stands of the Molson Stadium, in front of the McConnell Arena and in the Middle Field gravel area south of the arena. It has a capacity of 182 spaces.
  • Upper Residences lots. This is comprised of the lots at McConnell Hall (3905 University) , Gardner Hall (3925 University) and Bishop Mountain Hall (3935 University). It has a capacity of 42 spaces.
  • Bronfman garage (1001 Sherbrooke Street West) -  The garage is accessed via the interconnecting lanes between Peel Street and McTavish Street, above Sherbrooke Street and below Doctor-Penfield Avenue. There are two lane entrances from Peel Street: one is just north of 3407 Peel Street and one is just north of 3453 Peel Street. There is one lane entrance from McTavish Street, located just north of Sherbrooke Street behind the Bronfman Building. It has a capacity of 90 spaces. There is stair access to the Bronfman Building and elevator access to the Armstrong Building.
  • Powell West lot (3637 Peel Street). There are 20 parking spaces.
  • Powell East lot (north of 3610 McTavish street). There are 19 parking spaces.
  • Education garage (3700 McTavish) - It has a capacity of 60 spaces. There is stair and elevator access to the building. Outside of the Building North side , we have 2 Handicap spaces.
  • McIntyre garage (3649 Promenade Sir William Osler) - The garage is accessed via a ramp from the interconnecting lane between Peel Street and Promenade Sir William Osler. The lane is accessed just north of 3690 Peel Street and at 3655 Promenade Sir William Osler. It has a capacity of 410 spaces. There is stair access to the Stewart Biology Building and the Gelber Law Library. There is restricted elevator access to the Life Sciences Complex.
  • Drummond lot (3605 de la Montagne Street). Accessed via the lane behind 3605 de la Montagne Street. It has a capacity of 47 spaces.

Main Campus visitor parking area at McGill University (downtown campus)

For information about the parking restrictions and rates applicable to the Main Campus lot, please visit the following webpage.

  • Milton gate parking booth. The booth is located at the intersection of Milton Street and University Street. The Milton gate is the entrance and exit for the Main Campus parking lot. Access is restricted between 6h and 17h on weekdays. Please visit the following webpage for more information.
  • Main Campus parking spaces located on the roadway between the James Administration Building, Wilson Hall, Birks Building and 3550 University.
  • Main Campus parking spaces located between the James Administration Building and the Wong Building.
  • James Administration Building (845 Sherbrooke Street West).
  • Wong Building (3610 University Street).
  • The Main Campus parking spaces are accessed via a campus roadway that goes from Milton gate to James Square, then veers right (north) to access the spaces.

Accessible parking areas for persons with disabilities at McGill University (downtown campus)

Please visit the visitor parking page for rates and methods of payment. The garage and lot hours of operation and height restrictions are available on the following webpage. For the Main Campus parking lot restrictions, please visit the Main Campus page. If you do not have a McGill parking permit but require parking in a location available to McGill permit holders only, please contact Parking and Transportation Services to make arrangements.

  • Sports Complex/Molson Stadium: There is 6 accessible parking space under the north stands of the Molson Stadium available to visitors and McGill permit holders. This exterior lot is accessed via the Entrance between The Neuro (3801 University) and Douglas Hall (3851 University).
  • The Neuro: There are 8 outdoor accessible parking spaces located at the emergency/ambulance entrance of the Neuro (3801 University). These spaces are accessed by the lane from University Street, just before the bridge walkway between the former Royal Victoria Hospital and the Neuro. The spaces are available to anyone visiting The Neuro who has a permit authorizing parking in spaces designated for persons with disabilities (neither a McGill permit nor the daily parking fee is required).
  • Currie Gymnasium (475 Pine Avenue): There is 1 accessible parking space available to McGill permit holders.
  • 3465 Durocher: There is 1 outdoor accessible parking space located behind the building available to McGill permit holders.
  • Strathcona Music Building (555 Sherbrooke Street West): There are 4 outdoor accessible parking spaces in front of the building available to McGill permit holders.
  • Strathcona Music Building (555 Sherbrooke Street West): There are 3 outdoor accessible parking spaces behind the building available to McGill permit holders.
  • 680 Sherbrooke garage (accessed from President-Kennedy, just west of Robert-Bourassa Boulevard): There is 1 indoor accessible parking space on the first level of the garage available to McGill permit holders and visitors. There is elevator access from the garage to the rest of the building.
  • Main Campus (accessed via the Milton gate, located at the corner of Milton and University Streets): 9 outdoor accessible parking spaces available to McGill permit holders and visitors. The spaces are located near the following buildings:
    • 2 spaces behind Wilson Hall.
    • 2 spaces along the east side of the James Administration Building.
    • 1 space near the Leacock Building.
    • 2 spaces in front of the Redpath Museum.
    • 2 spaces near Burnside Hall.
  • Bronfman garage (1001 Sherbrooke Street West, accessed from the back of the building, via the interconnecting lane between McTavish and Peel Streets): There are 2 indoor accessible parking space in the Armstrong section of the garage, near the entrance to the elevator for the Armstrong Building. The space is available to McGill permit holders only.
  • Faculty Club (behind 3450 McTavish, accessed from the lane between Peel and McTavish): There is 1 outdoor accessible parking space available to McGill permit holders.
  • Powell West (3437 Peel): There is 1 outdoor accessible parking space available to McGill permit holders.
  • Education garage (3700 McTavish): There is 2 indoor accessible parking space, near the entrance to the elevator. The space is available to McGill permit holders only. There are 2 outdoor accessible parking spaces on the North Side of the building.
  • McIntyre garage (3649 Promenade Sir William Osler (Drummond). The garage is accessed from the lane connecting Peel Street and Sir William Osler,  north of Doctor-Penfield Avenue): There are a total of 6 indoor accessible parking spaces on levels 1, 3 and 7. Please note there is no elevator access to the lower levels. The elevator access from level 1 is by card access only for occupants of the Life Sciences Complex. The spaces are available to McGill permit holders only.
  • Life Sciences Complex(Bellini) (3649 Promenade Sir William Osler): There is 1 outdoor accessible parking space available to McGill permit holders.
  • McIntyre Medical Building (3655 Promenade Sir William Osler): There is 1 outdoor accessible parking space available to McGill permit holders.
  • Hosmer House Annex (3541 de la Montagne): There are 2 outdoor accessible parking spaces available to McGill permit holders and visitors.

Parking areas near the Birks Heritage Chapel (3520 University)

Please visit the visitor parking page for rates and methods of payment. Below is a list of parking areas near the Birks Heritage Chapel:

  • Main Campus parking area: This lot is accessed via the corner of Milton and University Streets. It is located just north of 3480 University. There are 49 outdoor parking spaces. It is available to the public after 5pm on weekdays and all day on weekends.
  • FDA parking area: This lot is accessed via the lane between 3420 and 3450 University Street. There are 24 outdoor parking spaces. Vehicles must be driven under an overhead walkway. For the height restriction, please click here.
  • McGill Sports Complex / Molson Stadium lot(Middlefield): This lot is accessed just north of 3801 University (MNI), to the right. There are 110 outdoor parking spaces.
  • MNI(Neuro) - Mcgill Sports Complex / Molson Stadium(under the stands): This lot is accessed just north of 3801 University (MNI), to the right. There are 64 spaces reserved for MNI visitors.

Parking areas near Thomson House (3650 McTavish)

Please visit the visitor parking page for rates and methods of payment. Below is a list of parking areas near Thomson House:

  • Powell East Lot: This lot is located behind 3637 Peel and is accessed from McTavish, just north of 3610 McTavish. There are 19 outdoor spaces in this lot. Please contact the Parking and Transportation Services office to make arrangements ahead of time to park in this lot. The office is only open on weekdays.
  • Powell West Lot: This lot is located at 3637 Peel. There are 20 outdoor spaces in this lot. Please contact the Parking and Transportation Services office to make arrangements ahead of time to park in this lot. The office is only open on weekdays.
  • McIntyre garage (3649 Prom. Sir William Osler): The lot is accessed via the lane between 3690 Peel and 3706 Peel. There are 410 interior parking spaces in this garage.

Map of main Campus parking area for permit holders with A category transponder permits

The Main Campus parking area has 49 parking spaces of which 9 are designated for persons with disabilities. It is accessed from the Milton gate only, located at the intersection of Milton and University Streets. The Main Campus parking area is accessible to those with A or C category permits who also have a permit to park in spaces designated for persons with disabilities. Departmental vehicles with D category permits are also authorized to park on Main Campus. Visitor parking is also available but must be arranged ahead of time by visiting: www.mcgill.ca/transport/parking/downtown/main-campus

  • There are 24 spaces located along the east side of the James Administration Building and along the roadway behind Wilson Hall up to the Rutherford Physics Building. 4 of the spaces in this zone are designated for persons with disabilities.
  • There are 20 spaces located between the James Administration Building and Wong Building. 
  • There are 2 spaces designated for persons with disabilities near Burnside Hall.
  • There are 2 spaces designated for persons with disabilities near Redpath Hall.
  • There is 1 space designated for persons with disabilities behind the Redpath Museum.

Map of Burnside garage for permit holders with A1 category transponder permits

The address of the garage is 805 Sherbrooke Street West. It is accessed from the lane off University Street, between the Adams Building (3450 University) and the Pulp and Paper Research Centre (3420 University). Some information about the Burnside garage:

  • It has a capacity of 66 indoor spaces.
  • It has a height restriction of 6 feet / 1.82 meters.
  • There is no elevator access to the garage, only stairs to the ground floor of Burnside Hall.
  • It is only accessible to permit holders with A1 category permits on transponders, C and D category permits. There is no visitor parking available in this location.
  • It is open Monday to Friday, from 7am to 11pm. It is closed on weekends and holidays. Permit holders who are occupants of Burnside Hall may be eligible for 24/7 access.
  • Should the garage reach capacity or become inaccessible, permit holders may park in the Bronfman garage. Some information about the Bronfman garage:
    • The Bronfman garage is accessed via the interconnecting lanes between Peel and McTavish. The lane from McTavish Street is accessed just south of the Armstrong Building (3420 McTavish). The lane from Peel Street is accessed just north of 3407 Peel (Best Western Ville-Marie Hotel and Suites).
    • It has a capacity of 90 indoor spaces.
    • It has a height restriction of 6’5 / 1.95 meters.
    • It is open Monday to Friday, from 7am to 10pm. It is closed on weekends and holidays. Permit holders who are occupants of the Bronfman Building may be eligible for 24/7 access.
    • It has no elevator access to the Bronfman Building, only stairs to the ground floor. There is elevator access to the Armstrong Building from the back of the garage, from 9am to 5pm on weekdays only.
    • The garage is accessible to visitors and permit holders with A2, C, and D category permits. Those with A1 category permits for Burnside garage may park there when Burnside garage is full or inaccessible.

The FDA Courtyard lot is located behind the Adams Building (3450 University). It is accessed from the lane off University Street, between the Adams Building (3450 University) and the Pulp and Paper Research Centre (3420 University). Some information about the FDA Courtyard lot:

  • It has a capacity of 24 outdoor spaces.
  • It has a height restriction of 10’3 / 3.2 meters due to an overhead walkway in the passage leading to the lot.
  • It is only accessible to permit holders with A1 category permits on hangtag, C and D category permits. Visitor parking is also available. For more information, please visit: http://www.mcgill.ca/transport/parking/downtown/visitors
  • Should the FDA lot reach capacity or become inaccessible, permit holders may park in the lot behind RVC/Strathcona Music. Some information about the RVC/Strathcona Music Lot:
    • It has a capacity of 28 outdoor spaces.
    • It is accessed from the lane off Aylmer Street, behind the Wirth Music Building (527 Sherbrooke Street West).
    • The lot is accessible to those with B1 category permits on hangtag, C and D permits, as well those with A1 permits on hangtag when their designated area is full. There is no visitor parking in this lot.

Map of Bronfman garage for permit holders with A2 category transponder permits

The address of the garage is 1001 Sherbrooke West. It is accessed behind 1001 Sherbrooke West via the interconnecting lanes between Peel Street and McTavish Street, above Sherbrooke Street and below Dr. Penfield Avenue. There are two lane entrances from Peel Street: one is just north of 3407 Peel Street and one is just north of 3453 Peel Street. There is one lane entrance from McTavish Street, located just north of Sherbrooke Street behind the Bronfman Building (1001 Sherbrooke Street West). Some information about the Bronfman garage:

  • It has a capacity of 90 indoor spaces.
  • It has a height restriction of 6 feet 5 inches / 1.95 meters.
  • There is no elevator access to the garage, only stairs to the ground floor of the Bronfman building.
  • It is accessible to permit holders with A2 category permits on transponders, C and D category permits. There is also visitor parking available. Payment can be made with cash only.
  • It is open Monday to Friday, from 7 am to 10 pm. It is closed on weekends and holidays. Permit holders who are occupants of the Bronfman garage may be eligible for 24/7 access.
  • Should the garage reach capacity or become inaccessible, permit holders may park in the McIntyre garage. Some information about the McIntyre garage:
    • The McIntyre parking garage (3649 Prom. Sir William Osler). The garage is accessed via a ramp from the interconnecting lane between Peel Street and Promenade Sir William Osler. The lane is accessed just north of 3690 Peel Street and at 3655 Promenade Sir William Osler.
    • It has a capacity of 410 indoor spaces.
    • It has a height restriction of 6 feet / 1.82 meters.
    • It is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
    • It has elevator access via the Life Sciences Complex for staff members with coded ID cards. Other staff, students and visitors may use the pedestrian door on the first level to go outside.

The lot behind RVC/Strathcona Music is located behind 555 Sherbrooke Street West. It is accessed from the lane behind the Wirth Music Building (527 Sherbrooke Street West). Some information about the RVC/Strathcona Music lot:

  • It has a capacity of 28 outdoor spaces.
  • The lot is accessible to those with B1 category permits on hangtag, C and D permits, as well those with A1 permits on hangtag when their designated area is full. There is no visitor parking in this lot.
  • Should the lot behind RVC/Strathcona Music reach capacity or become inaccessible, permit holders may instead park at University Hall/Rexford Hall parking lot located via the alley laneway of Alymer street. It is directly behind 3478 University street. See below for info on this parking lot.

The lot behind University Hall/Rexford Hall (3473 University) is accessed via the lane between Aylmer and University Streets. Lane access is located behind the Wirth Music Building (527 Sherbrooke West) or another lane access is also located just north of 3478 Aylmer. Some information about the University Hall/Rexford Hall lot:

  • It has a capacity of 7 outdoor spaces.
  • The lot is accessible to those with B1 category permits on hangtag, C and D permits. There is no visitor parking in this lot.
  • Should the University Hall lot reach capacity or become inaccessible, permit holders may park in the lot behind RVC/Strathcona Music. Some information about the RVC/Strathcona Music Lot:
    • It has a capacity of 28 outdoor spaces.
    • It is accessed from the lane off Aylmer Street, behind the Wirth Music Building (527 Sherbrooke Street West).
    • The lot is accessible to those with B1 category permits on hangtag, C and D permits, as well those with A1 permits on hangtag when their designated area is full. There is no visitor parking in this lot.

The lot is located behind 3661 University street and is accessed via the lane off Alymer street just north off 3654 Alymer. Some information about the 3661 University lot:

  • It has a capacity of 5 outdoor spaces.
  • The lot is accessible to permit holders with B1 category hangtag permits, C and D category permits. There is no visitor parking available at this location.

Map of the Exterior lots North of Dr. Penfield for permits holders with B2 category hangtag permits

The B2 category of permits may park in the following lots: Drummond lot, Duggan lot, Davis House, Hosmer Annex, 3690 Peel, Chancellor Day Hall, Charles and Lady Meredith Houses, Purvis Hall and Hugessen House. All the lots are only accessible to permit holders with B2 category permits, C and D category permits except for the Drummond lot which has a pay machine for visitor parking. Information regarding these lots is as follows:

  • Drummond lot is accessed via the laneway north of 3605 de la Montagne street. It has 47 outdoor spaces. Visitor parking is available at this location. For more information, visit: http://www.mcgill.ca/transport/parking/downtown/visitors.
  • The Duggan lot is located at 3724 McTavish street. It has 9 outdoor spaces.
  • The Davis House lot is located at 3654 Promenade Sir William Osler. It has 12 outdoor spaces.
  • The Hosmer Annex lot is located at 3541 de la Montagne street. It has 6 outdoor spaces.
  • The lot located at 3690 Peel street has 5 outdoor spaces.
  • The Chancellor Day Hall lot is located at 3644 Peel street. It has 6 outdoor spaces.
  • The Charles Meredith House lot is located at 1030 Pine avenue. It has 3 outdoor spaces.
  • The Lady Meredith House lot is located at 1010 Pine avenue. It has 7 outdoor spaces.
  • The Hugessen House lot is located at 3666 McTavish street. It has 3 outdoor spaces.
  • The Purvis Hall lot is located at 1020 Pine avenue. It has 6 outdoor spaces.

The B3 category of permits may park in the following lots: 3420 McTavish, 3434 McTavish, Faculty Club, University Centre lot, 3479 Peel, 3471 Peel, and 3459 Peel. All the lots are accessed via the interconnecting lanes between Peel Street and McTavish Street, above Sherbrooke Street, and below Dr. Penfield Avenue. There are two-lane entrances from Peel Street: one is just north of 3407 Peel Street and one is just north of 3453 Peel Street. There is one lane entrance from McTavish Street, located just north of Sherbrooke Street behind the Bronfman Building (1001 Sherbrooke Street West). All these lots are only available to permit holders with B3 category hangtag permits, C and D category permits. There is no visitor parking available at this location. Information regarding these lots is as follows:

  • The Faculty Club lot is located at 3450 McTavish street. It has 13 outdoor spaces.
  • The University Centre lot is located at 3480 McTavish street. It has 10 outdoor spaces. (Closed)
  • The lot located behind 3420 McTavish street has 3 outdoor spaces.
  • The lot located behind 3434 Mctavish street has 2 outdoor spaces.
  • The lot located behind 3459 Peel street has 7 outdoor spaces.
  • The lot located behind 3471 Peel street has 5 outdoor spaces.
  • The located behind 3479 Peel street has 7 outdoor spaces.
  • Should all the lots reach capacity or become inaccessible, permits holders may park in the parking lots available for permit holders with B2 category hangtag permits which includes the following lots:
    • The Drummond lot is accessed via the laneway north 3605 de la Montagne street
    • The Duggan lot is located at 3724 McTavish street.
    • The Davis House lot is located at 3654 Promenade Sir William Osler.
    • The Hosmer Annex lot is located at 3541 de la Montagne street.
    • The 3690 Peel lot.
    • The Chancellor Day Hall lot is located at 3644 Peel Street.

The map indicates all outdoor lots and garages where those with C or D category permits may park. This is divided into three lists below, as follows: outdoor lots, outdoor lots with restrictions, and garages.

Below is a list of outdoor lots available to permit holders with C or D category permits that do not have any restrictions:

  • The Upper Residences lots are located beside Gardner Hall (3925 University), where there are 26 spaces, McConnell Hall (3905 University), where there are 14 outdoor spaces and Bishop Mountain Hall (3935 University) where there are 2 parking spaces. These lots are accessible to visitors and permit holders of the Residences.
  • The Lyman Duff lot is accessed from Av. des Pins, just east of University Street and has a capacity of 13 outdoor spaces accessible to permit holders only. It is closed indefinitely due to construction. It is behind the Duff Medical Building (3775 University).
  • The 501 Pine lot is accessed via the lane between 475 and 501 av. des Pins and is comprised of 7 outdoor spaces accessible to permit holders only.
  • The 3661 University lot is accessed from the lane off of Aylmer Street, just north of 3654 Aylmer and has a capacity of 5 outdoor spaces accessible to permit holders only.
  • The University Hall/Rexford Hall lot is accessed from the lane just north of 3478 Aylmer and has a capacity of 7 outdoor spaces accessible to permit holders only. It is behind University Hall/Rexford Hall (3473 University).
  • The lot behind Royal Victoria College (RVC) and the Strathcona Music Building is accessed from the lane off of Aylmer behind the Wirth Music Building (527 Sherbrooke West) and has a capacity of 28 outdoor spaces. It is accessible to permit holders only.
  • The FDA Courtyard lot is located behind the Adams Building (3450 University) and is accessed via the lane between 3420 and 3450 University. It has a capacity of 24 outdoor spaces and is accessible to permit holders and visitors. Vehicles must be driven under an overhead walkway to enter the lot, which has a height restriction of 10’6 (3.2m).
  • The exterior lots accessed from the lane between Peel and McTavish, bordered by Sherbrooke and Dr. Penfield can be accessed from the lane just north of 3407 Peel (Best Western Ville-Marie), the lane just south of 3459 Peel, and the lane from McTavish between the Armstrong Building (3420 McTavish) and the Bronfman Building (1001 Sherbrooke West). These lots are accessible to permit holders only and are comprised of the following locations:
    • Armstrong lot: 2 spaces. (Behind 3420 McTavish)
    • Faculty Club lot: 13 spaces. (Behind 3450 McTavish)
    • University Centre lot: 10 spaces. (Behind 3480 McTavish) (Closed)
    • 3434 McTavish : 2 spaces
    • 3459 Peel lot: 7 spaces.
    • 3471 Peel lot: 5 spaces.
    • 3479 Peel lot: 7 spaces.
  • There are 2 exterior Powell lots located on either side of the building at 3637 Peel which are accessible to permit holders only and are comprised of the following locations:
    • Powell West lot is accessed at 3637 Peel and has 20 spaces.
    • Powell East lot has 19 spaces and is located just north of 3610 McTavish.
  • The Hugessen House exterior lot is located at 3666 McTavish and has 3 spaces accessible to permit holders only.
  • The Duggan House exterior lot is located at 3724 McTavish and has 9 spaces accessible to permit holders only.
  • The Purvis Hall exterior lot is located at 1020 av. des Pins and has 6 spaces accessible to permit holders only. Some spaces are inaccessible due to masonry issues.
  • The Lady Meredith House exterior lot is located at 1010 av. des Pins and is accessed from Peel Street, just below av. des Pins. There are 7 spaces accessible to permit holders only.
  • The Charles Meredith House exterior lot is located at 1030 av. des Pins and has 7 spaces accessible to permit holders only.
  • The 3690 Peel exterior lot has 5 spaces accessible to permit holders only.
  • The Chancellor Day Hall exterior lot is located at 3644 Peel and has 6 spaces accessible to permit holders only.
  • The McIntyre Platform lot has 10 exterior spaces accessible to permit holders only. It is located at 3649 Promenade Sir William Osler and is accessed via the ramp that joins the interconnecting lane between Peel and Promenade Sir William Osler.
  • The Davis House exterior lot is located at 3654 Promenade Sir William Osler and has 12 spaces accessible to permit holders only.
  • The Hosmer House exterior lot is located at 3630 Promenade Sir William Osler and has 2 spaces. It is closed indefinitely due to masonry issues.
  • The Hosmer Annex exterior lot is located behind 3541 rue de la Montagne and has 6 spaces accessible to permit holders only.
  • The Drummond exterior lot is located beside 3605 rue de la Montagne and has 47 spaces that are accessible to permit holders and visitors.

Below is a list of outdoor lots available to permit holders with C or D category permits that have some restrictions:

  • The McGill Sports Complex/Molson Stadium/ McConnell Arena lot is accessed via the lane just north of 3801 University (The Neuro) and is accessible to visitors and permit holders. It is comprised of 3 areas:
    • There are 36 spaces under the Molson Stadium stands which are reserved for daily ticket holders (visitors to the hospital) from 6am to 6pm on weekdays. Permit holders may park there outside those hours.
    • There are 139 outdoor spaces in the middle field gravel area between the Molson Stadium and the McConnell Arena. (29 are reserved for visitors to the MNI hospital)
    • There are 8 outdoor spaces in front of the McConnell Arena (3883 University).
  • There are 3 exterior parking spaces in the interconnecting lane between Peel and Promenade Sir William Osler, near the entrance to the Life Sciences Complex (3649 Promenade Sir William Osler). These spaces are reserved for the departmental vehicles belonging to Hazardous Waste Management only.
  • The Main Campus parking exterior lot is accessed from the Milton gate only, located just north of 3480 University (McConnell Engineering Building). Delivery vehicles are permitted between 7am and 11am on weekdays. Parking is only available to permit holders with C or A designations on their parking permits who also have a provincial or state permit authorizing parking in spaces designated for persons with disabilities and authorized visitors. This lot is also accessible to vehicles which are displaying departmental (D designation) permits. There are 2 spaces designated for Security Services departmental vehicles only, near Macdonald Engineering.

Below is a list of garages available to permit holders with C or D category permits:

  • The Burnside garage is located at 805 Sherbrooke St. West and accessed from the lane off University, between 3420 and 3450 University. It has 66 interior spaces and is accessible to permit holders only. The garage is accessible 24/7 for departmental vehicles. All other permit holders may park from 7am to 11pm on weekdays or unless authorized for 24/7 access. There is no elevator access to the garage, and it has a height restriction of 6 feet.
  • The Bronfman garage is located at 1001 Sherbrooke St. West and accessed from the lane between Peel and McTavish, just north of Sherbrooke. It has 90 interior spaces and is accessible to permit holders and visitors. The garage is accessible from 7am to 10pm on weekdays only, unless a permit holder has been authorized for 24/7 access. There is no elevator access to the garage, and it has a height restriction of 6’5 feet.
  • The Education garage is located at 3700 McTavish. It has 60 interior spaces and is accessible to permit holders and visitors. The garage is accessible from 7am to 10pm on weekdays only. There is elevator access to the garage, and it has a height restriction of 6’4 feet. 
  • The McIntyre garage is located at 3649 Promenade Sir William Osler and is accessed via the ramp in the interconnecting lane between Peel and Promenade Sir William Osler. It has a capacity of 410 interior spaces and is accessible 24/7, however 24/7 parking is not permitted without prior authorization. The garage is accessible to permit holders and visitors. The McIntyre garage has permit holder and visitor parking. There is elevator access to the Life Sciences Complex for staff members with coded ID cards. Other staff, students and visitors may use the pedestrian exit door on the first level to go outside. There are also exits to Stewart Biology Building (level 3 in the garage) and Gelber Law Library (level 7). It has a height restriction of 6 feet.

The address of the garage is 3700 McTavish street. The garage can be accessed on McTavish street northbound by turning left from Dr. Penfield Avenue. Some information about the Education garage:

  • It has a capacity of 60 indoor spaces.
  • It has a height restriction of 6 feet 2 inches / 1.87 meters.
  • There is elevator access to the first floor of the Education building.

  • It is open from Monday to Thursday from 7 am to 10:30 pm and on Fridays from 7 am to 8:30 pm. It is closed on weekends and holidays.

    • The McIntyre parking garage (3649 Prom. Sir William Osler). The garage is accessed via a ramp from the interconnecting lane between Peel Street and Promenade Sir William Osler. The lane is accessed just north of 3690 Peel Street and at 3655 Promenade Sir William Osler. 
    • It has a capacity of 410 indoor spaces.
    • It has a height restriction of 6 feet / 1.82 meters.
    • It is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
    • It has elevator access via the Life Sciences Complex for staff members with coded ID cards. Other staff, students, and visitors may use the pedestrian door on the first level to go outside.

The Powell lots include two lots, Powell west and Powell east. Powell west lot is located at 3637 Peel Street and Powell east lot is located north of 3610 McTavish street. Some information regarding the Powell lots:

  • Powell east lot has a capacity of 19 outdoor spaces.
  • The lots are accessible to those with F category hangtag permits, C and D category permits. There is no visitor parking available at this location.
  • Should the Powell lots reach capacity or become inaccessible, permit holders may park instead in the lots designated for B2 category permit holders which includes the following lots:
    • The Drummond lot is accessed via the laneway north of 3605 de la Montagne street
    • The Duggan lot is located at 3724 McTavish street.
    • The Davis House lot is located at 3654 Promenade Sir William Osler.
    • The Hosmer Annex lot is located at 3541 de la Montagne street.
    • The 3690 Peel lot.
    • The Chancellor Day Hall lot is located at 3644 Peel Street.

  • Parking under the stands has a capacity of 36 outdoor spaces. (reserved for MNI Doctors, Visitors and Handicap Visitors)
  • Parking in the gravel lot has a capacity of about 138 outdoor spaces. (28 spaces are reserved for MNI visitors)

  • The spaces under the Molson Stadium stands are always available to visitors. Permit holders may only park there after 6 pm on weekdays and at all times on weekends.

There are also exits to Stewart Biology Building (level 3 in the garage) and Gelber Law Library (level 7).
