What is the cut-off for the Dean’s Honour List and is this a monetary award?

Please note that as of 2020, the cut-off for the Dean’s Honour List is no longer published/released to students. This is also a non-monetary designation.

Is Dean’s Honour List awarded by department?

The Dean's Honour List is awarded to students in the top 10% of the Faculty (including Architecture).

If I transfer to another Faculty, will I lose my scholarship?

Yes, these awards are only for Engineering students (ie. Engineering to Arts)

If I transfer within the Faculty, will I lose my scholarship?

No, you can switch departments without penalty (ie. Civil to Mechanical)

If I’m graduating in the Fall term (December), and I’m not a full-time student will I lose my scholarship?

Yes, all students must be full-time irrespective of whether or not they are in a graduating term.

What happens if I go on Internship?

  • If you are only away for 1 term, you will receive ½ your scholarship provided you register with 12 credits or more. In order to be eligible for an in-course scholarship for the following academic year, you must be registered with 14 credits or more.
  • If you are away for both Fall and Winter terms, you will lose the complete scholarship. In-course scholarships cannot be deferred to another year.

What happens if I go on a Materials/Mining/Software Coop?

Students are still eligible for their scholarship (½ in Fall and ½ in Winter)

What happens if I go on Exchange?

Students are still eligible for their scholarship (½ in Fall and ½ in Winter)
