Questions?

Ask an on-duty 3D Printing Assistant, or contact 3dprint.library [at] mcgill.ca.

The Schulich Library has four 3D printers available to current students, faculty, and staff. New users must review the Regulations on the Use of 3D Printers and complete the online application form.

3D Printing Assistants will be available during select hours to answer questions and oversee the initiation of 3D printing jobs. Find their schedule on the right. If you require instruction in the use the 3D printers, you are more than welcome to drop by anytime during service hours to take a training session.

The 3D printers must be reserved before use via the Library’s booking system. Registered users can launch print jobs during the following times: Tuesday 9 am - 5pm; Thursday 9 am - 5pm; Friday 9 am - 2pm.

You can book a printer for a maximum of 15 hours at a time and up to 20 hours per week. Special requests for longer prints may be accommodated in rare cases – please contact graeme.langdon [at] mcgill.ca to discuss this.

Important note: our 3D printing space is intended for learning, experimentation, and small-scale projects. It is not intended for prints exceeding 15 hours and only rare exceptions will be made by advance request. We cannot guarantee the quality of prints and technical support is not available outside of student assistant hours. Our services should not be relied on for time-sensitive projects. For full-service 3D printing, we recommend checking out The Cube.
