General Description

Location
The des Collines Medical Clinic is located in Wakefield (Outaouais region), 20 minutes north of Gatineau and 2 ½ hours from Montreal by car. It is located within 1 km from both the community hospital and the other GMF that offers rural rotations in Wakefield.

- 1 or 2 months
Language
- Spoken: French and English are required
- Charting: French and/or English
Clinical Exposure and Learning Experiences
Rotation primarily done in clinic. Trainees can be exposed to:
- Walk-in clinic
- Urgent care clinic
- Maternity follow-ups
- Chronic illness
- Pediatric follow-ups
- IUD insertion and removal
- Minor procedures (AZOTE)
- Teaching activities
The clinic is equipped with a procedure room with motorized table, surgical light, ECG machine, spirometer and slit lamp.
Lodging
Trainees will be lodged in the Gatineau-Hull area. Please visit the Gatineau page for more information.
Transportation
A car is required for this rotation in order to travel between the lodging and the clinic. Depending on the location of their base teaching site, each trainee receives a stipend to help pay for transportation costs. Trainees must make their own travel arrangements.
