General Description

Thurso's clinic.


Location

The clinic is located in Thurso in the Outaouais Region. Thurso is the native town of the famous Hockey Player Guy Lafleur. The city was build for the exploitation of the Thurso Pulp and Paper, which is still active. Many outdoors activities are available mainly in the National Park de Plaisance (hiking, biking, swimming, kayak, etc.).

Clinical Exposure and Learning Experiences

Rotation primarily done in a clinical setting. Clinical exposure of trainees includes mainly:

  • Minor Procedures
  • Home care visits
  • Prenatal/Postnatal Care

Lodging


Trainees are lodged in Buckingham (approximately 15-minute drive).

Transportation

Guy Lafleur's statue was erected in Thurso; his birthplace.

A car is mandatory for this rotation. Depending on the location of their base teaching site, each trainee receives a stipend to help pay for transportation costs. Trainees must make their own travel arrangements.
