Conducting; B.Mus. (Minor)

Program Overview

The Minor in Conducting allows B.Mus. students to gain experience in orchestral or choral conducting and develop the technical and musical skills required to pursue graduate studies in conducting.

Enrollment

This minor program is open to B.Mus. students only.  Students are admitted by audition and upon successful completion of the conducting entrance exam for the Minor.  Enrollment is limited and is not open to U0 students.

Requirements

Bachelor of Music (B.Mus.) - Minor Conducting (18 Credits)

Application

Application Deadline: March 1.
Late applications will be accepted at the discretion of the department.

How to Apply:

  • Complete the online application form.
  • After completing the form, you will receive the audition materials via your McGill email. An audition date/time will be set up for you. The audition will take place between late March and early April.

    The Conducting Area will email the students to confirm the exact audition date following the application process.
