Priority Objectives
Develop and improve our workers’ skills and competencies for catering to the needs of English-speaking clients in our coverage area.
Process clients as they arrive; ask the right questions; make sure clients understand the information provided; give directions and guidelines; be able to provide moral support post-diagnosis; be able to correctly interpret users’ emotional state in order to provide appropriate crisis intervention.

Description of Planned Activities
Needs analysis; placement testing; individualized learning; training evaluation; training certification; learning support outside of course times.
Maintenance of acquired skills and development activities:
English lunchtime conversation with instructors in attendance (also open to the centre’s bilingual staff); telephone follow up outside of course times; promote use of audiovisual materials and conceptualizing (e.g. CD-ROM on intake staff’s interaction with clients).
