Priority Objectives
Ensure that more human resources are able to help English-speaking clients through the system by handling intake, clarifying clients’ needs together with them, determining the most effective response and referring them to the proper department or service; improve communication and the response to needs in clinical intervention situations. Equip personnel to
- understand requests for help from English-speaking clients,
- respond to those requests and
- interact with English speakers.

Description of Planned Activities
Placement testing, individualized training, training evaluation, training certification, learning support outside of course times.
Maintenance of acquired skills and development activities:
Telephone Talking Service (TTS): 120 minutes per person; Chit Chat session: group of 8-10 individuals for guided discussion (role playing); participation in evenings spent playing games such as Early Birds, Canadianopoly, Quebec Monopoly, Canadian Trivia or Eve’s Quest; evenings spent watching and discussing a television program such as Coronation Street, Friends, Seinfeld, Lost or The Apprentice.
