From Saturday, Oct. 5 through Monday, Oct. 7, the Downtown and Macdonald Campuses will be open only to McGill students, employees and essential visitors. Many classes will be held online. Remote work required where possible. See Campus Public Safety website for details.

Ilan Goldberg

Dr. Ilan Goldberg studied medicine (MD) at the Universite Libre the Bruxelles (1999, Belgium), then fulfilled his PhD at the Weizmann Institute of Science (2006, Israel) under the supervision of Prof Rafi Malach.

Using fMRI, he studied the puzzling functionalities of the so-called "Default Mode Network". Dr Goldberg has then completed a residency in Neurology at the Tel-Aviv Medical Center and he is a Board certified neurologist.

He joined then the Epilepsy Center in the department of Neurology at the Hadassah Hebrew University Medical Center in joint collaborations with Dr Shahar Arzy (Neuropsychiatry Lab) and Prof Amir Amedi (Multisensory Lab). His research was supported by a post-doctorate fellowship at the Edmond and Lily Safra Center for Brain Science at the Hebrew University. Using advanced methods of neuroimaging, he is actively involved in bridging clinical and basic research in the neurocognitive field.

Recently, as new recipient of the Anderman Fellowship in Epileptology at the MNI, Dr Goldberg joined Prof Gotman’s laboratory to better understand patients with epileptic disorders by using combined EEG-fMRI.
