Kais Gadhoumi

Kais Gadhoumi graduated from the University of Sherbrooke. He holds a Master degree in electrical engineering. Between 2000 and 2008, he worked as a software engineer in the wireless telecommunication industry. In 2009 he joined the EEG/Epilepsy laboratory of the Montreal Neurological Institute where he pursued a PhD in biomedical engineering at McGill University under the direction of Professor Jean Gotman and Professor Jean-Marc Lina (Thesis: Prediction of Focal Epileptic Seizures Using Intracerebral Electroencephalography, 2015).

During his residency at the Montreal Neurological Institute, his main research focused on the prediction of focal epileptic seizures, particularly the ones originating at the temporal lobe. He investigated the applicability of signal features extracted from high frequency bands of the intracerebral EEG recorded from depth electrodes in patients with MTLE and applied advanced signal processing techniques and machine learning algorithms to develop new seizure prediction methods potentially useful for clinical applications.
