Dr. Julia Jacobs graduated from medical school at the Johannes-Gutenberg University of Mainz, Germany. Afterwards, she started to work at the Department of Neuropediatrics of the University Hospital of Kiel and at the Northern German Epilepsy Centre for Children and Adolescents. She was a member of the EEG-fMRI research group and gained experience in combined studies of EEG and functional MRI in children.

Julia Jacobs visited the MNI for 4 months in 2006, supported by a grant of the German Research Foundation, to improve the technique of EEG-fMRI in children and to compare paediatric and adult EEG-fMRI data. She returned to the MNI in 2007 for a post as a research fellow. Her studies were focused on the evaluation of high-frequency oscillations (80-500Hz) in intracranial recordings of patients with intractable epilepsy. She is working in Freiburg, Germany now.
