During his residency training, he completed a one-year research fellowship at the Comprehensive Epilepsy Center, Columbia University, New York, NY, under the supervision of Dr. Frank Gilliam, where he developed an interest on health outcomes assessment in epilepsy, with special reference to the negative impact of adverse drug effects and comorbid mood disorders on subjective well-being.
