Willemiek Zweiphenning

A young female student in a light blue winter hat is smiling in to the camera

Willemiek obtained her medical degree at the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands in November 2015.

Through her research thesis project she got interested in epilepsy and epileptic source localization using high frequency oscillations (HFOs) and functional connectivity.

She is now pursuing a PhD at the University Medical Center in Utrecht, the Netherlands, focusing on HFOs and functional connectivity to improve localization of the epileptogenic tissue for surgery.

In October 2019 she joined the Montreal Neurological Institute for a six month project in which she will study the localizing value of HFOs after correction for their physiological rates.
